I just want to mount my front BUIS, and maybe a bipod some day. What is a recommended length of rail? There are sizes from 7, 9, 11, 13 inches, etc. Since the rifle is a 16" carbine, and I'm replacing the gas block, I have some freedom in length.

Since I'm doing this myself, can I get a suggestion on tools? Grab a multitool or just get tools separately as I need them?.

I have no idea what I should be concerned with outside of low profile. Given my unknown skill with the AR-15, one or two piece should not matter at this stage.
